England and Warwickshire batsman Ian Bell has signed for Perth Scorchers for the 2016-17 Big Bash season.
While Bell has not given up on a recall to the Test team - and remains a possible selection for the tour of Bangladesh and India - he is currently set to be available for the entire competition.
The Scorchers are the most successful team in the history of the Big Bash, winning in 2013-14 and 2014-15 and finishing as runners-up in the two preceding years.
"The Scorchers have been a force in every season of the Big Bash," Bell said. "I'm really excited about joining up with the team in December and making The Furnace my home ground."
Bell was the fifth-highest scorer in this season's NatWest T20 Blast with 489 runs at 40.75 and a strike-rate of 130.74. He will join current England international David Willey at Scorchers after he signed for a second season although will only be available for the first half of the tournament due to England's limited-overs tour of India from mid-January
Bell is the second senior England player to sign for the BBL in recent weeks after Stuart Broad struck a deal with Hobart Hurricanes.
