The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) will not extend the contract of Lalchand Rajput as the national coach beyond August.
The former India batsman had been appointed to the post in June last year. During his tenure, Afghanistan secured Full Membership at the ICC, and won six out of 10 limited-overs series. More recently, they toppled West Indies in an ODI in Gros Islet - their first win in this format over a Full Member other than Zimbabwe or Bangladesh - and made their debut at Lord's against MCC.
"ACB would like to thank Mr. Rajput for his satisfactory performance during his time as Afghanistan's Head Coach," the board said.
The ACB is in flux after having sacked or shuffled over 30 employees, including a number of top officials, as part of extensive reforms after obtaining Full Membership.
Afghanistan are likely to play their maiden Test, against Zimbabwe later this year.
