Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Maulvi Fazlullah killed in drone attack, says unconfirmed report

According to unconfirmed reports, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Maulvi Fazlullah is said to be killed in a drone attack.

Ministry of Defence via its Facebook page said that TTP commander Fazlullah was taken out by by Pakistani Air Force jets in Afghanistan.

A twitter account claiming to be of the Ministry of Pakistani defence said, "Maulvi Fazal ullah has been killed in Fresh airstrike! TTP commander Fazal Ullah was killed in an airstrike carried out by PAF jets inside Afghanistan."

The ministry further added, "It is again hereby being confirmed that operation was carried out in Kunar district of Afghanistan. SSG has been gathering evidence at the operational site. More details will be disclosed in the press conference"

On the next day of the Peshawar school attack, Pakistan army chief General Raheel Sharif was dashed to Afghanistan to seek extradition of Taliban leader Mullah Fazlluah, whose group claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on an army school in Peshawar left 141 people, mostly children, dead. While it has got assurance from Afghanistan and ISAF leadership that they will take action against militants hiding in border areas and believed to be involved in the Peshawar school massacre.

According to The Express Tribune, Fazlullah was reportedly in contact with the Peshawar school attackers from Afghanistan during the assault that left 141 people, mostly school children, dead on December 16.

Meanwhile, Stepping up the campaign against terrorists, Pakistani security forces killed at least 67 militants in a countrywide swoop on Friday, taking the number of insurgents killed to 124 after the brutal Peshawar school massacre that left 148 people dead. The forces have intensified the operation after Tuesday's attack on an army school in Peshawar which killed 132 schoolchildren.
