Manny Gutierrez, who goes by the name Manny Mua online, is a YouTube and Instagram celebrity known for his makeup tutorials. With millions of subscribers, Gutierrez even became the first male face for Maybelline in January this year. But not everyone is happy with his achievements it seems.

Earlier this month, conservative blogger Matt Walsh, someone known for periodically spouting anti-LGBTQ messages online, tweeted a photo of Gutierrez wearing makeup with the caption, “Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons.”

Of course, Gutierrez didn’t take any of it lying down, telling Walsh his father is very proud of him and his achievements. “Being a man isn’t about how ‘tough’ or ‘masculine’ you are,” he fired back on Saturday. “It’s about taking care of the ones you love.”

And yet, that smooth comment wasn’t the end of it, because it seemed Gutierrez’s father wanted to give Walsh a piece of his mind too. In a text shared online, Gutierrez Sr asked his son to post his response on all his social media platforms.

“Mr Walsh,” he said, “Let me first begin by telling you that I’ve always been there for my son and will always be there for him. Not only am I proud of what he has accomplished but I’m more proud of the person he has become.”

“I know the words you speak are from lack of knowing anybody from the LGBT community,” he continued. “If you did, you would soon realize they are some of the most real and kind hearted individuals that walk this planet of ours. Going forward, I would choose your actions and words wisely. Just like you would do anything for your family, I would do anything for mine.”

Fans of Gutierrez were rejoicing in his unfazed response to the hater, as well as his father’s immense display of support, “Manny’s dad must’ve done a heck of a job for him to be doing his thing despite prattlings of the aggressively insecure,” tweeted one user, while another added, “@MattWalshBlog While he inspires and uplifts countless people worldwide, you have a hateful blog that no one reads.”
