A large celebration always feels incomplete without a grand firework display. May it be Diwali in India or 4th of July in the US, fireworks have always been an integral part of the traditional celebrations. While we may roll out our mats and relax to watch the fireworks display, our animals do not want to be anywhere near it.

The loud noise and smoke that accompanies the explosions are known to be very unhealthy for domestic animals, says a reporter from Excite. They cause health problems like nausea, tremors, debilitating fears and light-headedness. The sensitive hearing of pets causes them to develop a condition known as 'acoustic stress' because of the noise.

Not only do the fireworks cause physical harm and stress to these animals but they also create confusion, fear and anxiety among them. This affects their body from functioning properly and may lead to further health problems. For example, a chicken after being exposed to the noise from fireworks will probably produce fewer eggs than if it hadn't been exposed to them.

In order to show love and respect for their animals, a town in Italy made the use of silent fireworks compulsory since 2015. The local government of Collecchio, in the province of Parma introduced a new legislation enforcing the use of silent fireworks by the citizens in an attempt to show respect to the animals of the town.

The company that manufactures these fireworks is called, Setti Fireworks. They customise their products to the venue and event that they will be used for and allow the residents of Collecchio to enjoy a spectacular display with their pets without the deafening sounds that scare them away.
