“Pig, go back to India.” This expletive laden comment was something that Indian American CEO Ravin Gandhi admits freely that he never expected. Gandhi, who is the founder and CEO of GMM Nonstick Coatings, a global supplier of coatings for cookware and bakeware, states that such comments came his way after he wrote recently in an oped article for CNBC that he could no longer support President Trump, post the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. Gandhi was referring to the violent clashes that took place between white supremacists and non-white supporters earlier this month, where three people died and over 30 were injured.

“I recently told the New York Times I was ‘rooting’ for certain aspects of Trump’s economic agenda,” Gandhi wrote. “After Charlottesville and its aftermath, I will not defend Trump even if the Dow hits 50,000, unemployment goes to 1 percent, and GDP grows by 7 percent. Some issues transcend economics, and I will not in good conscience support a president who seems to hate Americans who don’t look like him.” Gandhi expected that the article would earn him his fair share of detractors but he never imagined the level of verbal abuse that would sink to. That is when he decided to “shame the haters” by posting a You Tube clip of a call from a woman who called herself Ravana.

In the audio, Ravana is heard calling  Gandhi  a “f ****** Indian pig.” She also goes on to say in the audio, “Pick up your garbage and return to India, sell your waste there and sell it.” This is wrong as Gandhi is not Indian but American, as was born in Waukegan, Illinois.

What is worse is that the woman didn’t stop there. Apart from attacking Gandhi, she then went on attack Indian-American Nikki Haley, who is the US ambassador to the UN, and a firm member of the Trump administration. Referring to the fact that Gupta should return to India, the woman said,   “You can take that...Bangladesh creep with you, Nikki Haley. She’s the one that started all this when she took down the Confederate flag...We’re going to start taking down Buddhist statues and see how you and Nikki Haley like that.”
