Detained Zambian opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema, who has been charged with treason, has been denied access to his lawyers, his United Party for National Development (UPND) said on Thursday.
"Hakainde Hichilema has now been denied access to see his lawyers, which is a basic human and constitutional right for detainees to meet their clients," party spokesman Charles Kakoma said in a statement. Police could not be reached for comment.
