Rajesh Kumar aka Roshesh from 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' becomes Raavan in Khichdi

Rajesh Kumar, aka Roshesh of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai fame, has been roped in for a special part in the upcoming sitcom, Khichdi. He will be playing the role of demon King Raavan in the serial. Says the show’s director Aatish Kapadia, “For me, this casting is breaking the stereotype associated with the mythological character. Rajesh is extremely fair and Raavan is usually portrayed to have a dark skin tone. So Rajesh will be a ‘gora Raavan’ in the show. He has a personality, which is so dramatically opposite to Roshesh’s, who was a caring and loving Momma’s boy. On this show, he plays a demon who eventually breaks into tears after he meets the Parekh family, which is even more ferocious than he is.”
