Netflix finally announced that the season four of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror will bow in on December 29, 2017. The showrunners have been teasing the fans for at least two weeks with trailers for each episode.
The show moved from Channel 4 in UK to the global streaming platform for its third season in 2016. The dark, satirical themes about the consequences of technology in modern society have won accolades for Brooker. The result invited collaborators like Rashida Jones, David Slade of American Gods, Colm McCarthy of Peaky Blinders and Jodie Foster who has directed her first TV project for the upcoming season.

Jodie Foster directed the episode titled 'Arkangel.' It deals with the concept of parenting in the modern age. The trailer puts emphasis on 'the key to good parenting is control.' We see needles put into children's temples because inserting chips or possibly nanobots in your baby's body is not a big deal.

An episode titled 'Hang the DJ' deals with online dating. It's not run-of-the-mill Tinder app. This futuristic 'system' tells the characters who they should date and also when that relationship will expire. This episode is directed by Game of Thrones' Tim Van Patten.

Directed by David Slade, the episode titled 'Metalhead' deals with a world plagued by dogs. Looking at the trailer, it seems that the entire episode is shot black and white which is certainly giving it an edge. Who's not a good boy now?

Next episode is titled 'Black Museum.' The proprietor in the teaser promises to a visitor that " If (an object) did something bad, chances are, it’s in here. There’s a sad, sick story behind most everything here." Ominous already.

All the stories in this season are written by Charlie Brooker. Let's keep fingers crossed for at least one episode like 'San Junipero' this season.
