'Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev' actor Piyush Sahdev arrested over rape charges

TV actor Piyush Sahdev, who's known for playing the character of Lord Ram in popular mythological show Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police on rape charges levied on him by an actress. A report on BombayTimes quoted the Senior Police Inspector of Versova Police Station, Kiran Kale, as confirming the development and saying, "Yes, Piyush Sahdev has been arrested under Section 376, following rape charges. He is in remand."

Piyush's father told the daily that he doesn't have any idea about the incident. He said that he was in Delhi and would look into the matter while Piyush's brother Gireesh Sahdev (who's a popular actor himself) didn't respond to the calls made by the portal. 

When Piyush's estanged wife Akangsha Rawat was contacted, she said that she hasn't been in touch with him for ithe past four months so she isn't aware of anything. Last month she had filed a complaint of harassment and cruelty agains Piyush as well. Piyush and Akangsha have been living separately since April this year. 

Piyush was recently seen in opposite Jennifer Winget in popular Television soap Beyhadh. Further details are awaited...
