Xiaomi has introduced a Special Edition Red variant of the Mi A1 in India. The device will be priced at Rs 13,999 and will be available via Flipkart and Mi.com, starting December 20. The device will be available in limited numbers only.

Xiaomi India mentioned in a tweet, “Mi fans! Announcing Mi A1 Special Edition Red. Celebrate the New Year in style and get your hands on it for just Rs 12,999 during #1MiFanSale! Sale starts at 12 noon, 20th December on http://Mi.com”

The variant sports the exact same specifications as the original Xiaomi Mi A1 which was launched in September this year for a price of Rs 14,999. Recently, the smartphone received a permanent discount of Rs 1000 and is now available at a price of Rs 13,999 in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color variants via Flipkart.

Last week, as a part of the Flipkart Big Shopping Days Sale, the e-commerce portal was offering a discount on the Xiaomi Mi A1. The device, which was launched at a price of Rs 14,999 received a discount of Rs 2000 and was available for Rs 12,999.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It includes an internal storage of 64GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Running Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box, the smartphone includes a 12MP+12MP camera with a telephoto and a wide angle lens along with a 5MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port. A 3,080mAh battery completes the package.
