History was made on Friday as India made their debut in a FIFA event in a Group A match of the Under-17 World Cup against the United States of America (USA).

India, who qualified automatically for the event as hosts, had a chance to surprise the world and test their standing in the order of world football.

However, the Americans proved to be too strong for the hosts and earned a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
