Bastian Schweinsteiger, Ana Ivanovic announce birth of first child

Footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger and tennis star Ana Ivanovic are now parents. The former tennis world number one player gave birth to a son on Sunday. The couple shared the news on their social media accounts. 

“Welcome to the world our little boy,” Ivanovic wrote in posts on Twitter and Instagram. “Words can not describe the joy and the happiness we feel in our hearts!”

Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger got married in 2016. Ivanovic announced her retirement in 2016 after winning 14 WTA titles. She was also ranked number one in tennis back in 2008 after she winning the French Open. 

Schweinsteiger, who is a FIFA world cup winner with Germany and multiple trophy winner with Bayern Munich, now plays for the Chicago United in the Major Soccer League in the United States.

This is the couple's first child.
