Aug 15 (The Sports Xchange) - Cincinnati Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco was placed on the disabled list Tuesday, one day after fracturing his left foot.

Mesoraco departed Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs in the second inning after being hit in the left foot by a pitch from Jose Quintana.

X-rays displayed a fracture of the fifth metatarsal. Mesoraco is batting just .213 with six homers and 14 RBIs this season.
