Indian opener Murali Vijay, who was hit on his thumb in the opening match in Antigua, has been ruled out of the second Test against the West Indies at the Sabina Park in Kingston.

The 32-year old did not take the field in West Indies' two innings last week after an injury on the first day of the Antigua Test. Vijay, who has scored 2637 runs from 38 Tests, batted a bit in the nets on Wednesday but skipped the optional practice session on Thursday.

This gives a chance to Bangalore batsman Lokesh Rahul, who scored half centuries in both the warm-up matches, to play his first Test at the Caribbean.
