In the past two months Mahendra Singh Dhoni's life has undergone a big change. He is no more the Indian captain nor is he the skipper of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).

However, there's a slight difference between the way he stopped existing as the skipper of the aforesaid outfits. While Dhoni stepped down as Indian captain on his own, he was removed as the leader of RPS by its owners.

Many Dhoni fans might not be aware that Sanjiv Goenka, who owns the Pune franchise, had earlier said that MSD was mutually removed as the captain of RPS due to larger interests of his team. Now a video of Dhoni's last match as skipper of an India (India A) outfit has emerged where he says that he would continue leading Jharkhand and Rising Pune Supergiants.

This an interview on the sidelines of the toss in the practice match between India A and England held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on January 10. Commentator L Sivaramakrishnan asks Dhoni about his feelings of leading a side for one last time, to which Mahi replies, "It's special because it's my last venue as captain. But I will be captaining at the IPL level and may be for Jharkhand, so it's not the last for me."

Dhoni on that date, had no idea that he would be removed as RPS skipper. Later on after visiting Goenka's house, he was informed that the franchise was looking for a young blood who could lead the team. Ultimately Australian skipper Steve Smith was announced as Pune's captain.
