It has only been six days of World T20 and already the entertainment quotient has gone up a few notches with some outstanding qualification matches. The so called 'weak' teams have played their hearts out to make this event a spectacle.

There has been some stunning efforts on the field which reestablishes the fact that athleticism has revolutionised the game. Here's a look at some of those gravity defying moments:-

Zeeshan Maqsood brings back memories of Jonty Rhodes

Oman were playing Ireland in their first match of Group A and it is here that Zeeshan Maqsood pulled off a Jonty Rhodes. Ireland opener Paul Stirling, batting on 29 played a rapturous cover drive off the bowling of left-arm spinner Aamir Kaleem and the ball would have easily raced away to the fence but for the one handed intervention of Maqsood. The Oman opener, fielding at short cover flung himself in the air and brilliantly caught the uppish drive with his left hand. The best part of the effort was that Maqsood didn't allow the ball to pop out of his grasp when his elbow hit the ground after the completion of the catch.

Gary Wilson saves not one, not two but five runs

In the same game Oman's Amir Ali was at the crease on 25 with 22 runs required off the last 15 balls. Irish all-rounder Kevin O'Brien banged a short delivery at Ali, who pulled it to the mid-wicket boundary where Gary Wilson back pedalled, leapt high in the air, grabbed the ball out of thin and threw it on the field of play before falling over the rope, and he did all this in one motion. It may seem unbelievable, but Wilson saved five definite runs as he kept it down to just a single. May be the batsman was also busy admiring the boundary rider.

Michael Leask makes an easy catch look beautiful

In the fifth match of the qualifiers between Zimbabwe and Scotland, right-hander Richmond Mutumbani, batting on 19 went after a flighted Mark Watt delivery and was acrobatically caught at the long off fence by Michael Leask. Finding a full ball on off stump, the Zimbabwean threw the kitchen sink at it and for better part of the action it looked like Leask had the ball covered, but just as he tried to grasp it with his fingers pointing upwards, the ball popped out of his hand. However, the off spinner was quick to react as he bent his body and gobbled up the catch in his second try.

Raza shows who is the real Sikandar

In the same Group B match, Scotland opener Kyle Coetzer batting against pacer Tendai Chatara leaned forward and drove a good length delivery on off side which was magnificently taken by all-rounder Sikandar Raza at short cover. The stroke was a touch uppish but it was quite a few yards away from where Raza was initially standing. However, he made some ground and then put in a full blooded dive to his right to take that one handed catch. Marvellous! to say the least.
