There's no denying the fact that Bangladesh cricket team has taken giants strides in Test cricket. They have had decent outings in New Zealand and India and are now giving tough competition to Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle. However, the inexplicable trait of the Bangladeshi players to get involved in hilarious incidents on the field, takes the sheen away from their performances.

This time pacer Subashis Roy became the butt of all jokes for prematurely celebrating a wicket on Wednesday. During Sri Lanka's first innings, Kusal Mendis pulled Roy to the fine leg fence where Mustafizur Rahman took the catch but was unable to keep his balance and touched the boundary ropes. Everyone except Roy knew the outcome but the pacer thought that he had got his man and celebrated wildly by raising his arms in the air. Problem was that the umpire also raised his hands in the background, signalling a six.

Roy was left red-faced after the incident.

Sri Lanka' scored 494 in the first innings and then spinners Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera shared six wickets between them to help the hosts take command of the first Test on a rain-hit day three in Galle on Thursday. The visitors were all out for 312 on the third day, trailing the hosts by a massive 182 runs.
