Red Bull racers Daniel Ricciardo has asked fans to tone down expectations from the new upgrade package of the racing team.

Red Bull are trailing Ferrari and Mercedes who have already locked the horns by making most podium since Australian GP. Max Verstappen's third finish at Chinese Gran Prix in April was a bit of a relief to otherwise struggling team.

"We still have to expect to be where we are. Hopefully closer but I don't think we can expect to come out and win. We want to, would like to, but we can't really expect it because, look, even if the update gives us a second we know that Mercedes and Ferrari are not going to come here with nothing, so hopefully the target is to at least close the gap and then let's see. But sure we want to win but we should not expect it before we have driven the car," said the Aussie racer.

In the first practice session on Circuit de Caralunya, Red Bull's Verstappen finished 5th at 1:22.706 and Ricciardo followed him at 6th spot with 1:23.084.
