Wrestler Narsingh Yadav's doping saga has now taken a new turn with the cook at Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sonepat training centre identifying a man who had allegedly tinkered with the Rio-bound wrestler's food, reported India Today.

Narsingh, who repeatedly complained of foul play, is scheduled to appear before National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for a second hearing on Wednesday and this revelation can help him strengthen his case.

India Today performed a sting operation where it was allegedly found that an intruder had spiked the food eaten by the wrestler. Now the cook at SAI reportedly said the accused mixed a white powder in the food. Also, reports suggest that accused is a relative of wrestler Sushil Kumar, who fought a legal battle with Narsingh and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) regarding selection for Rio Olympics.

Narsingh, who won the 74kg Olympic quota berth with a World Championships bronze last year, was selected for Rio in controversial circumstances after Sushil's demand for a trial rejected by the WFI and the Delhi High Court.

Narsingh was then tested positive for methandienone, a banned steroid, in a test conducted by NADA and has been handed a provisional suspension, which has jeopardised his chances of participating in the 74 kg freestyle category at Rio

However, rubbishing rumours that he had engineered the dope fiasco surrounding Olympic-bound Narsingh Yadav, a fuming Satpal Singh on Tuesday said it was wrong to point fingers at him and his protege without any proof.

A fuming Satpal said the allegations against him were absolutely baseless and was ready to face any inquiry. "They are trying to show Satpal and his team did it but we have nothing to do with this. Don't level allegations against us without proof. If you have proof then come forward," Satpal, the renowned wrestling coach and father-in-law of Sushil, said.
