In the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League 2017, Quetta Gladiators romped home against Lahore Qalandars by comfortably chasing down 201 runs in 18.5 overs on Saturday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. They were led from the front by Gladiators’ Kevin Pietersen who scored 88 runs off 42 balls and Sarfraz Ahmad who sored 45 off 25. The Qalandars had set a target of 201 runs. For the Qalandars, JJ Roy scored 52 off 27, Fakhar Zaman made 47 while Mohammad Rizwan scored 46.  Quetta Gladiators’ Hasan Khan took two wickets while Zulfiqar Babar got one wicket.

The Gladiators elected to bowl first and Qalandars’ openers Jason Roy and Fakhar Zaman, with Roy scoring 51 off 27. Zaman scored 47 while Umar Kmal chipped in with 17. Things didn’t start off well for the Gladiators who lost their first wicket in the third over (Saad Nasim) followed by Ahmed Shehzad who departed for 15. But it was Pietersen and Rossouw who built the first proper partnership, and then went berserk scoring 3 fours and 8 sixes in his innings.
