Former India captain Kapil Dev has a special place in the hearts of the Chennai cricket lovers. On Day 2 of the Test here on Saturday, as Kapil took his chair in one of the stands of the stadium to do a lunch show for the official broadcasters, the spectators tried to get as close to him as possible and took out their mobile phones to take his photos.
The railings and fence could not allow them take selfies with their hero but they had a smile on their faces as they got to see Kapil in flesh and blood.
In his playing days, Kapil has entertained the Chepauk crowd, scoring two centuries, taking 40 wickets in 11 Tests and leading India in the historic ‘Tied’ Test here against Australia in 1986.
