Gulf minnows Oman and Afghanistan seal 2016 World T20 spots

Oman and Afghanistan have secured their berths for next year's ICC World Twenty20 tournament in India.

The Gulf minnows claimed a five-wicket win over Namibia at the ICC qualifying event in Malahide near Dublin.

The victory saw Oman reach their first major international tournament, in addition to being granted full T20 status by the ICC.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan overcame Papua New Guinea by six-wickets to qualify for the event for the fourth successive time.

The 16-team tournament will see qualifiers Scotland, Ireland, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Afghanistan and Oman competing against the 10 Test sides for the coveted title.
