I-league champions Aizawl FC registered a 2-1 win over Churchill Brothers in the ongoing 38th edition of the Federation Cup in Cuttack, Odisha on Tuesday. With that win, Aizawl FC became the first team to secure the semi-final spot from Group A.

Whereas, East Bengal defeated Chennai City FC 2-0 to register their first win in the ongoing 38th edition of the Federation Cup at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha on Tuesday, leading them to garner four points out of two matches. As Chennai City FC won against Goan side Churchill Brothers 3-1 in both the team's last group stage match on Thursday, the Red and Gold brigade automatically qualifies for the semi-finals along with Aizawl FC from Group A and their outing against Aizawl FC is now just a mere formality. 

But the Kolkata giants will look to avenge their loss in the recently concluded I-League, when the North-Eastern side had an upper hand in both the ties.
