One of Premier League's most awaited and prestigious awards, The Professional Footballers' Association Players' Player of the Year (often called the PFA Players' Player of the Year) has revealed it's list of players in contention for the award. The award is an annual award, given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year in English Football. The winner is chosen by a vote amongst the members of the players' trade union, the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA). The current holder holder of this award is ex-Liverpool man, Luis Suarez for his exploits in the previous season.

But this season, the list looks very intriguing, due to top performances from many players. The list of nominated players includes the following names:
1) Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs)
2)Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
3)Diego Costa (Chelsea)
4)Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
5)Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)
6)David de Gea (Manchester United)

But for four of these players, Kane, Hazard, Coutinho and de Gea, there will be some added joy, as they are nominated for the Young Player of the Year prize as well. The other players are Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois and Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard, will finally look to break the deadlock and win the award this year. The Belgian was nominated for the past two years, but lost the award to Gareth bale and Luis Suarez. He will also look to join Andy Gray, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to win both the PFA Players' Player and the Young Player of the Year prize in one season.

Let's have a look at the nominations for the PFA Award 2105:

1) Harry Kane- Tottenham Hotspurs

The English striker has been in sensational form this season netting 19 goals for his side. He is the joint top scorer of the EPL with Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa. Kane was picked ahead of Soldado and Adebayor by the boss, Mauricio Pochettino, and he has certainly proved his worth. He has had a wonderful season, signing a five year deal with Tottenham and also got a call from his national side. He will look to follow the footsteps of his former teammate, Gareth Bale, and look to clinch both, the PFA Award and The Young Player prize.

2) Eden Hazard- Chelsea

The Belgian international, has been in top form this season for his his side. He is one of the favourites this season to win the award. He has netted 12 goals in his 31 appearances and assisted 8 others. This is the third consecutive year that the player has been nominated for the award. He wasn't so fortunate the previous two times when he lost his place to Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez. But the Chelsea man will look to make amends this time around and hope to win the award.

3) Diego Costa- Chelsea

The former Atletico Madrid man, made a £32mn transfer to EPL giants. The striker was thought to be a flop signing and was said not to adapt with EPL. But he proved everyone wrong and has had a brilliant first season for the Blues, leading the score card with 19 goals, along with Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane. It will be a perfect first season for the Spaniard, if he happens to win the award and the golden boot as well.

4) Alexis Sanchez- Arsenal

(Sanchez playing for Chile)

After much speculation about not signing a forward, manager Arsene Wenger, shelled out £35mn for Chiliean forward Alexis Sanchez. The former Barca man too has had a pretty good first season for the Gunners, netting 14 goals and assisting 8. The 26 year old is the only player with Diego Costa to complete the senior list.

5) Philippe Coutinho- Liverpool

The Brazilian youngster was a bargian buy for Liverpool, considering his current exceptional form. Thanks to Brendan Rodgers, playing pacey forwards in his lineup. He showcased his skills with terrific goals against Southampton and Manchester City. He has assisted four and scored four for the reds this season.

6) David de Gea- Manchester United

(de Gea is estatic after a United victory)

ManU shot stopper de Gea has been in superb form since the beginning of new year. He has kept 10 clean sheets this season and made 82 saves. He showed his skill against Everton, when he made some world class saves. He is the only keeper to be nominated for the award. He will be aiming to become the first goalkeeper to win the award since Peter Shilton in 1977.

Looking at the current form of players, Eden Hazard is expected to win the award ahead of Harry Kane. But if Kane is to be the top scorer of the league, he may also be in the race.

Award Ceremony: 26 April, 2015
