The final day of the third test between New Zealand and South Africa at Seddon Park in Hamilton was abandoned on Wednesday without a ball being bowled.

South Africa clinched the three-match series 1-0 having won the second game at Wellington's Basin Reserve by eight wickets. The first test in Dunedin ended in a draw after the final day was also washed out.

New Zealand had been in a strong position to win the match after reducing South Africa to 80 for five in their second innings, still requiring another 95 runs to make the hosts bat again.
