Brad Haddin calls on Australian public to help grieving squad get through first Test

Australia cricket team vice-captain Brad Haddin has called on the public to help his grieving teammates to get through the first Test against India, that starts on Tuesday at Adelaide Oval.

Haddin and fellow Test players David Warner, Shane Watson and Nathan Lyon were on the field at the SCG playing for NSW last week in the Sheffield Shield match during which South Australia's Phillip Hughes was hit by a bouncer and passed away two days later after enduring an injury on the back of his head.

Haddin revealed that one gets back to playing cricket adding that it is a great game. He claimed that the game has been good to so many of them, News.com.au reported

The vice-captain stated that the team needs the support of the Australian public and everyone leading into the first Test. He added that they are looking forward to playing and they need the help of everyone to enjoy the moment.

Haddin said that team psychologist Michael Lloyd was assisting the players, adding that the psychologist travels with them pretty consistently so he's been around.

He claimed that there's a lot of trust there from the players so it has been good to have Lloyd there just to talk to.

Haddin also said that he had given no thought to having to lead the side on Tuesday if skipper Michael Clarke pulls out with a hamstring problem. He said that Clarke has been strong for the team for a long time, adding that the skipper is a tremendous captain and they want their captain out there playing.
