Rohan Bopanna and his partner Pablo Cuevas were bundled out of men's doubles at Australian Open on Friday. The Indo-Uruguay pair lost to Australia's Alex Bolt and Bradley Mousley 6-2, 6-7(2), 4-6.

It took one hour and 55 minutes for the Australian pair to knock out 15th seeds Bopanna and Cuevas, reports ESPN.com.

With Bopanna out, this marks the end of the Indian challenge in men's doubles at the tournament after Leander Paes, who partnered with Andre Sa, crashed out in the first round on Thursday.

Paes and his Brazilian partner Andre Sa had a one-set advantage but lost 6-4 6-7(3) 4-6 to the 10th seeded pair of Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi. It was the same team that Paes and Andre had beaten in the Auckland Classic opener.

In another first round match, Purav Raja and Divij Sharan, who ended runners-up at season-opener Chennai Open, fought their hearts out before suffering a narrow 6-7(9) 6-7(4) defeat against the French team of Jonathan Eysseric and Fabrice Martin.
