Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic believes that Britain number one Andy Murray made his 'biggest mistake' by splitting with his former coach Ivan Lendl in March last year.

Ivanisevic, who is currently coaching the US open champion Marin Cilic, said that last year was 'up and down' for him and letting Ivan go was probably his 'biggest mistake' as they did 'everything well together', the BBC reported.

According to Ivanisevic, Murray won two Grand Slams and played the 'best tennis' under Ivan. Reflecting on Murray's abilities, he said that Andy was a 'great tennis player' and could easily win a Grand Slam this year, adding that what he played last year was 'way off the standard' of Andy Murray.

Murray won the US Open, Wimbledon and Olympic gold under the guidance of Lendl, but they parted ways after a little over two years together when the Czech-born American could not commit to enough weeks on tour.
