Eyeing an user base of half a million subscribers by June, social gaming app Rooter expects to break even in about a year from now.

"Rooter plans to break-even by IPL 2018. The company has seen 70 per cent growth in daily users on the first day of IPL 2017," Rooter Founder and CEO Piyush Kumar said.

Funded by Bollywood actor Boman Irani and mobile phone maker Intex Technologies, Rooter connects sports fans of particular team or game around the world and engages them through an unique Live match prediction game. Fans create their rooter profile with teams or players they support. The live match prediction game engages fans through matches with predictions based on statistics and enable them to interact in a live match chat forum.

The company has partnered with Rajkot-based IPL cricket team Gujarat Lions for connecting the fans.

"Gujarat Lions was a revelation in the IPL last year and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of probably one of the strongest teams on paper. Rooter wanted to play its part in adding to the fervor of its fans by providing them with an unique space on the app," Kumar said.
