Pune: Robin Anthony (27), a techie and a resident of Dhanori has registered a case with Vishrantwadi police station against Daniel Hangel alias Vikas Puri.
Narayan Sable, Inspector (Crime) of Vishrantwadi police station, said, “Complainant had received a mail about mobile offers on the online shopping portal name OLX. Accordingly, he found a Nexus-5 mobile handset used for a week for Rs19,000. Complainant approached Daniel who asked him to transfer the amount in his New Delhi based private bank account. He paid Rs10,000 online once and the remaining amount two days later. Anthony was promised to get the mobile handset via courier on January 1 which he had planned to gift to his friend. Later Hagel did not respond to his call and when he checked the account it was on another name. He approached the city police cyber cell. The account belongs to a man named Puri.”
