Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni diagnosed with swine flu

With over 178 people already testing positive for swine flu in the city, ST Pardeshi, chief medical officer, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has urged citizens to maintain proper sanitation and cover their faces in public.

Kothrud's recently elected MLA Medha Kulkarni has been detected with H1N1 virus and is currently being treated at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital.

Confirming the report, BJP leader, Ganesh Ghosh speaking to iamin said, “Kulkarni was admitted to hospital, soon after she tested positive for swine flu. Although she has been kept in isolation now and nobody is allowed to meet her, doctors say her condition is stable.”

With over 178 people already testing positive for swine flu in the city, ST Pardeshi, chief medical officer, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has urged citizens to maintain proper sanitation and cover their faces in public.

"We are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure this does not spread into an epidemic. All swabs are immediately being sent for tests and flu tablets are being administered to patients as soon as possible to prevent their condition from worsening,” said Pardeshi.
