Having nearly escaped death, Pune girl tops B.Com exams

Pune: Two years ago, Akansha Jain cheated death and has come back strong. She had come under the wheels of killer, ST bus driver by Santosh Mane, she has survived to prove that nothing is impossible. The eldest daughter in the family of two, Akansha came out in flying colours in the recently declared B.Com University of Pune results. She stood first in Pune city and third overall. But, this St Vincent’s Commerce College, Camp, has proved that anything is possible provided one is committed to oneself in all walks of life.

“I was going to college (COEP) when this bus came from no entry and could not do anything and the driver drove over me. The scooty which I was riding came over me and the plastic bags which on my bike saved me. As I saw the bus pass over me, I lay there bleeding and one rickshaw driver picked me up and took me to a hospital,” said Akansha recalling the incident.“I did see death so close and that is history,” said Akansha, who now is topper in B.Com this year. A resident of Wanowrie, Maestros Society near Salunkha Vihar. Akansha passed out from science stream XII standard and chose commerce. And she is also won many awards in elocution, debates and essay writing.Her day begins at 5 am when she kicks her bike for her engineering college (AMI) 6-9 in the morning, and takes off to her father’s office in the city thereafter. After being with his father, a distributor of electronic components till 5,30 pm she is back in the college for her masters in Commerce.

An outstanding student of the college Akansha is not contend with her marks and has gone to reevaluation of three papers–Economic, Law & Costing Three. She is optimistic she will get her due
