20-year-old dies after falling off hilltop in Lonavla, all for a selfie

Pune: A 20-year-old youth from BEG after 700-feet fall from a hilltop in Lonavla on Thursday morning. According to the police, the deceased along with his friend had gone to the hill-top to take a selfie when he accidentally slipped and met a tragic death. The deceased has been identified as Israr Iliyas Shaikh(20), a resident of BEG.

His body was found on Friday evening by mountaineering group Shivdurga Club after rigorous search of 20 hours. IS Patil inspector in-charge of Lonavla city police said, “Shaikh had gone along with his friends to Lonavala with his friends on Thursday. He was taking a picture on a when he slipped.”
