The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has released a short video of the ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road project. The video shows a bird-eye view of how the road will look four years hence, once the project is completed. The video also shows alignments and access points of the road of the eight-lane freeway. The project got a final environment clearance from the Centre last week.

The project will be two-phased — first from the Princess Street flyover to the southern end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link — the second phase starting from the northern end of the Sea Link to Kandivli. It will have 11 inter-connections to the city.

The video, which mostly reveals the final look of the first phase of the project, also shows how the land will be reclaimed from the sea and the tunnel that will connect Girgaum Chowpatty and Priyadarshani Park. According to civic officials, the underground tunnel would relieve the traffic on Pedder Road, Bhulabhai Desai Road, and Babulnath Chowk.
