Two incidents of alleged rape of minor girls have been reported at the Nalasopara police station. In the first case, a 16-year-old girl has complained to the police that she was blackmailed into a sexual relationship after the accused threatened her with a recorded video.

In second, a 15-year-old girl has alleged that she was gang-raped by five persons. The Nalasopara police have arrested one person in this regard and further investigations are being conducted into the case.

Meanwhile, members of the state women's commission have slammed the Nalasopara police for its inaction and inappropriate behaviour with the survivors of the earlier two rape cases involving minors. dna had highlighted this apathy of Nalasopara police with a series of articles.

Chitra Wagh, member of the women's commission, met senior inspector Ravindra Badgujar and enquired about the alleged misbehaviour of the policemen with the minor survivors. Wagh condemned both the incidents and met the 12-year-old girl at her residence.

"After meeting the girl we learnt that the policemen have violated the norms. They insulted her. We have demanded that assistant inspector Landge and senior inspector Badgujar should be suspended by the police administration for dereliction of their duty," said Wagh.

Inspector general of police Amitabh Gupta told dna: "We have taken each case seriously and would register the cases if the complainants approach us. Investigations would be conducted as per legal procedures and we will make sure that there is no violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
