Two more held in human trafficking case

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Nandwani, 53, resident of Kalyan and Narsiya Munjali, 45, resident of Nalasopara.

The Anti Robbery and Dacoity Cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested two more persons in connection with an international human trafficking racket that was recently busted by the police after the arrest of three persons, and rescuing four children from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. 

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Nandwani, 53, resident of Kalyan and Narsiya Munjali, 45, resident of Nalasopara. According to the police, during the interrogation of those arrested earlier, the police acquired the information about the accused. After acquiring to phone numbers and addresses of the two, the police tracked their phones and arrested the them. During interrogation, it was revealed that Nandvani had recently sent eight children to Paris with French visas, and by changing their identity and religion. It also revealed that there were many agents in Punjab who traffick the children to Mumbai.

“We are trying to find out how they acquired the passports with forged identity.” said an officer.

“We have already summoned the parents of the children who were to go to Europe with the accused. Prima facie it revealed that the parents wanted them to stay away from the drug menace, and to give them bright future, the accused said that the gang had allegedly trafficked more than 100 kids in past to European countries from Punjab and other states,” he said.
