Three people in the city lost their lives in three road accidents till late on Saturday night. Two of them were hit-and-runs reported at RCF police station in Chembur. In another, a woman succumbed to severe head injuries after a tempo ran her over in Powai.

According to the police, Altamash Kadri, 23, a resident of Chembur, was riding pillion with Kaushik Palande,21, on a two wheeler when an unidentified tanker rammed into them at Vashi Naka in Chembur. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment and Kadri was declared dead before admission. The RCF police have registered a case.

In the second incident, an autodriver was arrested for allegedly mowing down Vijay Singh in Ghatkopar. The autodriver was nabbed with the help of the passersby.

In the third incident, Pramila Singh,35, Vikhroli resident was allegedly mowed down by a tempo near Powai. 

According to the police, the tempo driver was speeding and lost control. The locals chased the 28-year-old driver and handed him over to the Powai police. Anil Pophale, Senior Inspector, Powai police station, said, "The driver tried to abandon the tempo and run away from the spot."
