A four-and-a-half year old boy was allegedly beaten by one of his school teachers for not sitting in the seat assigned to him by the teacher.

Naksh Madhavi, a Junior KG student of ASP Convent English High School in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai was allegedly beaten with a duster on his head after he changed his seat without the teacher’s permission on July 4.

The incident came to light only after the family registered a complaint with the police on Thursday morning.

The child is now admitted to New Life Maternity and Children Hospital in Ghansoli. His parents said that while he did not suffer any severe injuries, he is in a state of shock.

“I went to pick him up at the school on Tuesday and noticed that he was upset about something. After probing a lot, he revealed that the class teacher beat him with a duster. Ever since, he is in a state of shock and cries when we bring up the topic,” said his mother, Nutan.

His parents allege that the school’s officials did not pay heed to the child’s ordeal and kept refuting all the allegations. “They did not hear us out and called our allegations baseless,” added Nutan.

Despite repeated calls, officials at the school could not be reached for a comment.
