Lilting chants herald mornings when the Hare Rama Hare Krishna devotees praise their lord; in perfect tandem an azaan is heard not too far away from a mosque. United in harmony and faith, a new sunrise dawns upon Juhu.

My home, domain and go-to place after a long, tiring day is Juhu, a suburb made popular by the living legend of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, who chose to reside here after he attained the status of a demigod in Bollywood. Since then it's not uncommon to bump into today's superstars like Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Vidya Balan to name a few, who have all made homes here. The JVPD scheme is another Bollywood residential haven.

Juhu is where 5-star hotels, night clubs, hospitals, fish and food markets, temples, beaches, shopping malls, cinemas, schools and colleges, all find their place under the sun—it is a suburb that can best be defined in one word, 'complete'. If you fancy electronics or the latest fashion trends from Bangkok, our neighbouring Irla is your paradise.

For a true blue Bandra girl since childhood, moving to Juhu 15 years ago has been a decision I have never regretted. My life has become so much easier here. On a good day, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the airport. Given my line of work, Juhu is closer to the film and television studios and offices compared to other places. Auto rickshaws abound thanks to the place being a tourist attraction but it can be frustrating on a weekend if you are in a hurry and have to cross Juhu beach.

But take a moment to breathe in and analyse how fabulous it is to have the sea right there albeit with muddy water, to have God right outside your door with Iskcon and Mukteshwar temple, to have the best designers selling their wares in the various shops, to have parks where you can actually jog on a track, to have educational institutions so your children can flourish and to have a home here where on a full moon night you can walk up to the terrace and actually see the moon and stars without having buildings obstructing your view. In my world, life is good thanks to Juhu... no wonder I want to say woohoo for you!
