Stolen SSC papers: Average marks to be allotted to students

A total of 516 answer sheets of Hindi medium History, Science and Sanskrit were stolen from the principal's cabin at Dahisar's Isra Vidyalaya on April 3. However, only 330 answer sheets were recovered.

The Mumbai division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has decided to allot average marks to 186 students whose papers went missing from Isra Vidyalaya, Dahisar.

A total of 516 answer sheets of Hindi medium History, Science and Sanskrit were stolen from the principal's cabin at Dahisar's Isra Vidyalaya on April 3. However, only 330 answer sheets were recovered.

"We have decided to allot average marks as per the rules. The process for the same has already started," said Dattatray Jagtap, Secretary, Mumbai divisional board.

"We have taken custody of the papers from the police and our teachers are evaluating the same. The results will be announced along with that of all the other students," added Jagtap. Students will be allotted marks depending on their scores in other subjects after taking out an average of the same. With the results of SSC expected to be announced in the first week of June, the Mumbai division of the board will allot average marks to ensure students get their results on time.
