Stampede claims engineer's life

As usual, Priyanka Pasalkar, left her Kurla residence to reach her office at Elphinstone. An an Associate Software Engineer she probably would have never imagined that her ambition to become the country's top software engineer will perish at a tender age.

Colleagues of Pasalkar blamed the Railways for their lackadaisical approach.

Priyanka, 22, was the elder sister and has two brothers Parag and Pratik. Her parents work with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Pasalkar had completed her Bachelor in Engineering in Information Technology from Saboo Siddik college of engineering. The family members have decided to conduct Priyanka's last rites at Satara.

"We will remember her as one of the best software engineer we had met. She was perfect and was very innovative in completing her tasks. She had a very bright future and never had plans to go abroad as she wanted to serve our countrymen in terms of developing technology," said Ganesh Nargude, a colleague. "Usually we take similar trains but she took an earlier train on Friday. ," said Nargude.
