The Tilak Nagar Police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder case of a 12-year-old boy whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase near LTT station in January. The police cracked the case and arrested his employer for whom the deceased worked as a child labourer.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Randhir hailing from Bihar, was working in an imitation jewelry store of the main accused Shivnath Sahani in suburban Kurar along with other 14 child labourers. All of them would live at the shop cum house. On January 7, Randhir and the accused had a heated argument related to work, which led the accused to assault the victim and killed him in a fit of rage. "In a fit of rage, Sahani assaulted him badly and pressed the hand against his mouth and nose resulting his death. He later realised that Randhir had died. Sahani then threatened the other workers with dire consequences and, with the help of an accomplice, packed his body in trolley bag and dumped it near LTT."

His body was then found stuffed in an abandoned suitcase near the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) on January 8 to the locals. The police got their first clue when the crime branch released the two photos captured by the CCTV camera installed at the bag shop in Malad. The photos were then flashed at various police stations and railway station after which a local resident of Kurar identified one of the suspects as Sahani. Later,  Krishna was picked up by police for questioning. During the interrogation, Krishna then unraveled the mystery of the murder and confessed to the crime and gave whereabouts of other accused.

While Sahani was arrested from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, his wife Renu, son Ranvijay and his brothers-in-law Krishna Sahani, Vinay Shani and Ramanand, were arrested from various places in Mumbai on Sunday night.
