The two hand-raised tigresses from Pench National Park, that arrived at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) on July 11, have been named Bijlee and Mastani.

Chief conservator of forest (CCF) and field director of SGNP Vikas Gupta, who finalised the names early this week, said that tigress TF1 has been named Bijlee while TF2 will be called Mastani.

"We had a big list of names but then we decided we should give them names that explain them the best. Hence, TF1 who is extremely aggressive and very quick, has been named Bijlee, while TF2 who is carefree and is also relatively docile, has been given the name Mastani," Gupta informed.
