It is surprising but true. A minister of state (MoS) in chief minister Devendra Fadnavis's cabinet has flashed a fourth letter to the CM, that too on the same topic, seeking a meeting to discuss the issue, but to no avail.

MoS for housing development, and higher and technical education, Ravindra Waikar represents the Jogeshwari assembly segment. He issued a press release last month, informing that he has written three letters to the CM so far.

Waikar sent the letters to Fadnavis on February 6, March 18 and August 24 last year. Now he has written a fresh letter, requesting the CM to give him time to discuss how to sort out the long-pending issues in his constituency.

The issues include rehabilitation of Aarey Colony slum dwellers. In his letters, Waikar has demanded power metres for the slum dwellers.

He has also demanded basic infrastructure for the three police stations of Jogeshwari, Aarey Colony and Meghwadi, a new regional office for the Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation (BMC) in Jogeshwari and strengthening of facilities at the Aarey primary health centre.

Waikar has mentioned in his letters that the issues confronting his constituency are related to three departments – urban development, animal husbandry and dairy development and home department.
