Rati Agnihotri's hubby gets interim relief in cruelty case

The special women's court, presided over by judge Vrushali Joshi, on Thursday granted interim relief in the anticipatory bail application filed by Anil Virwani, husband of actress Rati Agnihotri, in a cruelty case filed by her against him. The court has granted him relief till May 12, when it will hear Virwani. Till then, the court has sent the matter for mediation.

The special women's court, presided over by judge Vrushali Joshi, on Thursday granted interim relief in the anticipatory bail application filed by Anil Virwani, husband of actress Rati Agnihotri, in a cruelty case filed by her against him. The court has granted him relief till May 12, when it will hear Virwani. Till then, the court has sent the matter for mediation.

Virwani, who was represented by his advocates Snehal Khairnar and Sadanand Shetty, informed the court that the police did not follow the procedure required in such cases. "The police, at the initial stage, need to direct the matter for mediation, but they did not do so. Thus, we had to approach the court. Also, we would like to request the court to hear out our case and then decide," said Khairnar.

The court, after hearing the matter, granted interim relief to Virwani.
