Pawanhans Limited to give Mumbai Darshan trip from Kalina campus

The course will be affiliated to the University while the certification would be given by Pawan Hans and recognised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Students at the University of Mumbai will soon get an opportunity to take an aerial journey of the city, as the university with the help of Pawanhans Limited is planning to offer a Mumbai Darshan trip from its Kalina campus starting March 28, 2017.

The announcement came on Thursday after Pawanhans Helicopter Training Institute and the Garware Institute of Career Education under the University signed an MoU for introducing a dual degree Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Aviation and Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering from the upcoming academic year. The three year, full-time programme will have a total intake of 60 students.

The course will be affiliated to the University while the certification would be given by Pawan Hans and recognised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

In a statement released on Thursday, the University announced that it would provide helicopter rides to its students at subsidised rates from March 28. The helicopter service willtake off from the helipad in the University’s Kalina campus as Pawanhans will conduct the rides.
