Panvel police have sent a team to Surat in Gujarat to know more about the woman whose mutilated body was found in Panvel on Wednesday evening in three bags. One of the bags in which a few parts of
the body of the woman was stuffed, bears the address of a shop of Surat.
Panvel police had found an unidentified woman, chopped beyond recognition into 13 parts, in Panvel. The body parts were found stuffed in three blue colour plastic bags left in a garden behind Simaran Motors in Bada Khanda colony road in Panvel. “During a thorough check, we noticed
the address printed on one of the plastic bags in which the body was stuffed,”said an official from Panvel police station. He added that they suspected that either the woman and/or the person involved in killing the woman must have visited the shop and this would help them know more about the incident. “A team of police officials has already left for Surat to check the address,” said the official.
'Meanwhile, the Panvel police have increased its horizon of investigation and are also in touch with Gujarat police to check
the missing persons complaints. “We have already been checking missing person's complaints in our region. We have also asked Gujarat police to check missing person's complaints as per details of the deceased woman we have given,” said the official.
A garage worker had noticed the mutilated body of the woman, who then informed the police. He informed police at around 4 pm about the body he noticed behind Simran Motors along the road leading to Motha Khanda Colony. The body was packed in three bags.
A police team immediately reached the spot with dog squads and took possession of the chopped body. “The body was chopped in to 13 pieces. Her hands, legs and head were severed. However, she looked like she was in her 30s," said another officer from Panvel police station. The police have registered a case of murder and have begun investigations.
