BMM students across the city are going nuts as the 9th edition of the steaming hot media festival, Cutting Chai, is back at RD National College with a bigger, grander extravaganza. The three-day will begin from February 11 on their Bandra campus.

The festival is known for it's long list of glitzy judges from AR Rahman, Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan, Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy, Varun Dhawan, Shabana Azmi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others. The core committee has spent the last three months in endless discussions and making countless calls to sponsors.

With their marketing strategies in place, they have some big names coming this year as well. The flagship events such as Teleprompter, Investigative Journalism and Damage Control ensure the crowd keeps coming back for more.

"Cutting Chai is National College's very own mass media festival. It is during this festival that all the learning which takes place during three years of college is put into practical implementation. It is our student's internship where they put in their heart and soul and showcase their talent," said Dr Meghna Kothari, mentor to the students and driving force behind the festival.

Kothari has been with this event since its conception in 2007. BMM coordinator Gayatri Ahuja said: "My students have managed to do a wonderful job for the current edition of Cutting Chai. We have more than 20 colleges coming in as participants which makes the platform bigger and better every year. It requires great strength to stand as one and achieve the desired success, and my students have made this possible brilliantly. They are the stars of our college."
