Mumbai: Estate agent shot at Bhayander, critical

A 28-year-old Bhayander-based real estate agent was shot in broad daylight by an unidentified person near Rai village in Bhayander On Monday. The agent, identified as Ajay Gupta was rushed to Kasturi hospital as he had severe injury on neck. He was put into Intensive Care Unit where he is battling for his life. The Bhayander police is checking the CCTV footage to nab the perpetrator.

Ajay was riding the bike slow due to bad roads, when all of a sudden they heard a loud thud and the lost their balance and they collapsed. Ansh and Deepesh faced minor scratches while Ajay was bleeding profoundly. Deepesh rushed him to the hospital where the doctors confirmed that Ajay was shot.

"We were going to Gorai as his son Ansh wanted to go to the beach. Facing the bad roads, Ajay slowed down the bike, suddenly a loud thud like tyre burst was heard and we collapsed off the bike. Seeing Ajay profoundly bleeding, we rushed him to the hospital. Later, when the doctors confirmed that it was a bullet injury, we informed the police," said Deepesh Bora. "We noticed a white omni car was following us, and the person in the car may have fired the bullet," he added.

Confirming the incident, Bhaskar Pukale, Police Inspector, Bhayander police station, said, "We will register the case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant sections of Arms Act. We would record the statement of the victim, and had formed teams to trace the accused," said Pukale.

"We are also investigating that the estate agent had any personal enmity or professional rivalry," he added.
